This is WACK News. I’m Jason Mcallister.

The House of Representatives has passed the bill covering alcohol, cannabis, dangerous drugs, gambling and tobacco. The vote was twenty-three to ten, with amendments. House passage does not mean the changes are already in force.

Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath says the Government is working to access existing development-bank funding for WASA upgrades. The loans total more than one hundred and twenty million US dollars. Planned work includes treatment plants and ageing water mains. Funding conditions still have to be met.

In international news, UNICEF says four in five households in Lebanon struggle to afford basic necessities. Twenty-two per cent of surveyed households reported children going hungry. Thirty-one per cent said children missed needed healthcare, mainly because of cost.

In sport, West Indies Women have won their one-day series against Zimbabwe, two-one. They took the deciding match by ninety-one runs in Harare. West Indies made two hundred and seventy-one for five before dismissing Zimbabwe for one hundred and eighty.
