The House of Representatives passed the Miscellaneous Provisions (Alcohol, Cannabis, Dangerous Drugs, Gambling and Tobacco) Bill on 30 September 2026, with amendments, by 23 votes to 10 and no abstentions. Parliament’s official sitting record confirms the third reading and passage after a clause-by-clause review. The original proposals included higher minimum ages for tobacco, alcohol, cannabis and gambling. The final amended provisions and completion of later legislative stages have not been verified here. Before the sitting, Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath said the Government intended implementation in 2027 after a transition period. House passage alone does not establish that the provisions are in force.
