Coastal cleanup brings call for less litter and new awareness survey

Planning Minister Kennedy Swaratsingh called for more responsible waste disposal while taking part in coastal cleanup activities on Saturday. He urged people to reduce disposable plastics and keep rubbish out of drains and public spaces. Environmental Management Authority chief executive Joth Singh said the agency is preparing a survey of environmental knowledge, attitudes and practices; the previous survey was in 2016.
