Road rehabilitation has begun in several communities across the Mayaro constituency, according to an update published on 14 September. The Works and Infrastructure Ministry’s programme follows a weekend inspection of road and landslip concerns in Ecclesville and Charuma.

Mayaro MP Nicholas Morris and Rural Development and Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen took part in the site visit. Morris identified Rio Claro, Biche, Navet, Guayaguayare, Tabaquite Road, Kernaham, Cedar Grove and Mayaro among areas included in the wider programme.

He said communities still awaiting crews should see work in the coming weeks. The visit also covered the Charuma Junction landslip, where rehabilitation is being advanced through the Rural Development Company and the Local Government Ministry. These are works underway and planned; the report did not confirm completion across all named communities or a single deadline for the entire programme.
