Call for project progress reports ahead of Budget – Wack.TV

Economist Ronald Ramkissoon is calling for clearer reporting on government projects ahead of Monday’s Budget, including explanations of delays and the progress made.

The government’s Public Sector Investment Programme 2026 records provisional fiscal 2025 spending of TT$3.9065 billion against an original allocation of TT$5.6662 billion. The comparison concerns fiscal 2025, not final fiscal 2026 spending. The difference of about TT$1.76 billion does not establish that funds were lost or wasted.

The figures remain provisional. The current news development is the renewed call for accountability before the Budget; the underlying government document was published in October 2025.
