Agencies coordinate security response at San Juan North Secondary

Senior Education Ministry officials met several agencies at San Juan North Secondary School on Monday, 14 September, as the ministry continued its response to an incident at the institution.

Permanent Secretaries Simone Williams and Keshore Lutchman led the meeting. Representatives included the Homeland Security Ministry, the police service, the Policy and Community Support Office, MTS, the teachers’ union TTUTA, Education Ministry divisions and the school administration.

The meeting focused on coordinating the response and identifying ways to strengthen physical security. The ministry said protecting students, teachers and administrative staff remained a priority. The latest update did not give a completion date for all proposed measures or announce that the security work had been finished.
