The United Nations Security Council renewed the mandate of Haiti’s Gang Suppression Force on 29 September 2026. Resolution 2829 extended the mandate until 31 March 2027. The vote was 12 in favour, none against and three abstentions, from China, Pakistan and Russia. A UN release republished by Mirage News said Haiti called for the personnel, equipment and operational support needed for full deployment. CARICOM also urged stronger international support. The renewal does not mean deployment is complete.
